Baptist Theology: A Critical Look

I have to admit that the presidential election left me with an empty feeling. Probably because my guy lost. Even though I knew he would, I still had hope. I guess the biggest fear is that someone who voted for the winner will drive by my car and see my "No W" sticker and think bad things about me like I'm not a good American or worse, not a good Christian. Which by the way is NOT the same thing. I want to offer some sort of hope for those out there like me that don't want to feel like we're alone. The Christian right does not speak for all Chrristians. I don't want to be a part of the bashing of the Christian right. I want to encourage those who are not a part of it. If you read my previous posts you'll realize how tired of the negative crap that was so much a part of the campaign and blogging world. The hope I'll try to provide is in the form of a book. My friend Michael, who has written many more books than my one book, has many connections and we are writing a book together. He is much more disciplined than me, so he will force me to get my ideas on paper quickly. As a historical theologian, I'll look at interpretations of Jesus throughout history and his Biblical studies background will help us uncover the "real" Jesus. Yeah, I know...that's not really possible, but we'll be looking at such ideas as gun ownership, thanking Jesus after a football victory, Roy Moore and the 10 Commandments etc. I'll keep you posted!
